Samsung doesn’t hold a good reputation when it comes to rolling out the operating system updates. Every smartphone manufacturer has their own feature related changes for Android which is the biggest reason of Android segmentation. But now we have good news for Samsung users. The Korean tech company is adjusting its plan for the Android Pie update for various devices. The company now says that it will roll out the latest version of Android Pie update for some of its mid-range and budget devices earlier than initially planned.
The recent mid-range cell phones Galaxy A7 (2018) and Galaxy A9 (2018) are now getting the update in March instead of April. The Galaxy J6 is expected to have the update in April, one month earlier than planned. It seem that update will be one month earlier than the schedule for many devices. Samsung’s official website in Turkey also confirm the earlier update time frame for the A7(2018) and A9(2018).
This seems like a good initiative to reduce the Android segmentation. Although this won’t be the same case for all the countries. Still you should be able to confirm that by checking your notice section in Samsung member’s app on your device. It is good that company is focusing on early updates otherwise Samsung users were usually always the last one to get the Android updates in past. Now we have to see if company is actually able to meet its own set deadline or not. Let’s enjoy our old version of Android till then.
