Only few weeks ago since Samsung released the One UI – Android Pie beta program for the Galaxy Note 8 and Galaxy S8/S8+. Earlier the beta program was limited to the Galaxy S series of that particular year but not it has moved to its predecessor S8 and S8+ as well. Samsung has increased the radius of the beta program in year 2019 by not only make it available to the Galaxy Note 9 but also for other few devices too.
The android pie beta program was initially released in few markets including UK and South Korea for some of its devices. It is now expended to other markets like the United States. Those who own the unlocked Galaxy Note 8 or Galaxy S8/S8+ will now be able to download the Android Pie beta program. If you are living in United States, you need to register to Samsung app before you participate in the beta program. Check notifications after being logged in. You will find the relevant option there. One you a secured a place, as this is first come, first serve program, the Android Pie beta update will be sent to their Snapdragon powered device over the air.
For Galaxy S8 and S8+, the firmware being updated has G950U1UEU5ZSAB and G955U1UEU5ZSAB version numbers. The unlocked Galaxy Note 8 gets firmware version number N950U1UEU5ZSAB. The update includes an upgraded operating system to Android 9 and latest security patches for January 2019. You will also get an update of user interface as well. One UI is new interface for Samsung which replaces Samsung Experience. This mean you are going to have new features in terms of look and feel as well as performance. So far, we are unclear if at this time Galaxy S8/S8+ and Note 8 will get stable version of Pie in the United States or it will be beta program. Samsung has yet to release update for other markets around the world as well.
