The rumors about its possible specs seem quite promising. Recently, a press leak online reveal three Galaxy sports colors for the watch with the rotating bezel seem to be missing. Instead the navigation would be through the UI.
An earlier report suggested that the Galaxy watch might be successor to the Gear sport. It will hit the market as the Galaxy watch active in live with the new naming scheme. An XDA member went through the firmware files of a device code named “pulse”. It was reported previously as the new smartwatch. Though the model number SM-R500 is strange as the previous Gear sport watch had model number SM-R600. As a successor, the model number should be greater than 600. Anyway, it appears that Samsung is planning for different name space this year.
Now, if we talk about the specification, the Galaxy watch has 1.3 inch circular display of 360 x 360 resolution which is 9.1 inches bigger than its predecessor. It is powered by new Exynos 9110 SoC, a heart rate monitor, NFC for Samsung Pay and a smaller 230mAh battery. Unlike the Gear sport, the Galaxy watch active will come with a speaker and LTE capabilities. The reduced battery capacity is perhaps due to firmware files belong to the smaller version of the Galaxy watch. Currently the watch is available in 42mm and 46mm size options.
