Samsung announced its latest Android interface last year. The Samsung One UI replaced its predecessor the Samsung Experience. Samsung Galaxy S10 was the first smartphone that was launched with One UI out of the box. One UI aims to make things easier for all its users. But there are few things that were changed just because in Samsung’s developers’ opinion, this would help to achieve the minimalist look. One of these changes is notifications on the display. In OneUI Samsung has changed notifications to show only the icon, instead of full information. This has a drawback. You won’t know what the message is about unless you unlock your phone. But there is a fix to change this.
The first step is to go into the Settings app. Then tap on the Lock screen. Scroll down to Notifications and tap on that. It will be the third option from the bottom. Now tap on View style. This will give you 3 options: (1) Detailed, (2) Icons only, and (3) Brief. The first option will show you complete information regarding the notification, second will show only icons, and brief will give you a bit less detail, with a smaller notification.
Depending on what you would like to have, you can choose the option which suits best to your liking. There are some other options as well. Like if you want to hide your content, or if you want to keep your information private, you can do so. There are also settings option for choosing the background of the notification. You can choose a white background or a transparent one. By default, it will invert the colors, so you can actually see the notification on the lock screen.
