Samsung doesn’t seem to be in a hurry to launch Galaxy Fold

There were rumors about the successful durability test of a Galaxy fold which wasn’t confirmed by any official sources. The test carried out by sending a few units to people in the industry and to professors at Seoul National University and the KAIST research institute. So far, there isn’t even a single report of the problems that Galaxy fold had faced in the last PR testing. While this may seem like a good thing but so far, there is no sign of a new launch date for Galaxy Fold.

According to WCCFtech, a solvakian publication there is no information inside Samsung regarding the new launch date. This could mean we are still weeks away from having the foldable in our hands if not months away. There is no announcement for the customers who assign for the pre-order as well. Samsung seems to be little hesitant this time as earlier this month, Samsung CEO DJ Koh admitted that the company rushed out the Galaxy Fold too early. He also said that the phone will be release in due course.

Samsung Galaxy fold was due for release on April 26th, which was delayed due to its display failure even before the launch. What was supposed to be the marketing stunt for Fold proved to be the PR nightmare when media person removed the plastic on the screen leading it to completely damaged. Another influencer’s device through an opening at the top of a hinge cause a bulge on the internal display. Others simply couldn’t use this device more than 48 hours. Samsung has tucked the film into the casing of the phone so it couldn’t be peeled off. It also narrowed the gap between the top and bottom of the hinges to prevent dust particles from entering into the device.

Samsung’s main focus is right now on Galaxy Note 10’s unpacked event scheduled for August 7th at Brooklyn’s Barclays center. At this event we may witness the Galaxy watch Active 2 along the Note 10.
