Samsung has released the Galaxy Fold in the US recently and we have already discussed that its screen isn’t reliable and can break with only a few times of use. Samsung Galaxy Fold’s first release wasn’t a success and caused embarrassment for the company. Samsung had to take back those phones and worked to fix those problems for a few months now. Although the company claimed that they have fixed the review units, but the handset is far from a reliable smartphone that can be used in the day to day operation.
As we learned from the early reviews that Galaxy Fold is still facing problems in two areas. First one it is not completely closed the phone and tiny dust or sand particles can get into the phone and remain stuck in the hinge. The second reason for the concern is its delicate screen which isn’t reliable and prone to breakage and scratches. Once it got destroyed, you have to replace it. Samsung is offering free display replacement under the standard one-year warranty. Which means that Samsung will replace your display screen for free if it is broken.
If you break the screen on your own, Samsung still offers one-time screen replacement for $149 which is a lot more affordable than its actual price. The verge states that this one-time deal is applied to the customers who buy the foldable before 31st December. Just like any other smartphone, it might take some time for you to get used of the new form, so instead of trying new things on Galaxy fold, get used to this foldable screen so you won’t break it accidentally.
